Opposing sides
The Atomic Bomb was a key element within World War II that had a direct impact on the United States and Japan. After the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, the United States felt that they needed to create a bombing strategy to help expedite WWII. The U.S. knew that they had the war won, but believed that the use a weapon of mass destruction would clearly finish things off to order to avoid lingering battles for years to come. Albert Einstein made the initial remarks to Presiden…

Franklin D. Roosevelt's Message on War Against Japan

Yesterday, December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air for…

The Battle of Britain was the most important air battle of the Second World War and debatably ever. It was fought from the 10th of July to the 31st of October 1940 between the German Luftwaffe, led by Hermann Goring, attacking Great Britain…

Opposing sides:
The two major parties involved in the Battle of the Coral Sea were Japan and the United States. The Japanese were planning to take Port Moresby in southeast New Guinea, unaware that the United States had cleverly figured out their intentions by interpreting their code. Thus, the Lexington and the Yorktown were part of two forces sent to stop the Japanese. Thus, as…

The bombing of Berlin was the Allies strategic plan in order to defeat Germany. It took place for over 5 years in which the RAF (Royal Air Force of Great Britain), the USAAF ( United States of America Air Force), and eventually the Red Air Force (the Soviet Union's air force) bombarded the Nazi Capital in Germany, Berlin. The Allied attacks started on August 25, 1940 with Air Marshall Arthur Harris of the RAF. After the first air raid, the air forces of Great Britain increased the raids quickly.…

Atom Bomb
History:
The first atom bomb was designed, built, and successfully detonated during World War II. The first atomic bomb was designed by a secret project called the Manhattan Project. It was centered in Alamogordo, New Mexico. They chose this city because of the dangers of working with nuclear science. This project was directed and designed by the brilliant American physicist named J. Robert Oppenheimer. However, Oppenheimer wasn’t the brains behind the design of the atom b…

This picture relates to the Charter Oath of 1868 because it shows that there was a new working class. This new working class has their own right to choose their job, and also had the opportunity and education to be successful.

This picture really symbolizes the second aspect of the oath. Clearly in this picture, the person is working very vigorously, as one of clauses in the oath says. This person is vigorously working and despite his social class he is demonstrating his passion to better himself in the new society of Japan.

Journal Entry One
Today was my first day at work. I woke up early in the morning so that I would not be late to my first day of work. My mother prepared a wonderful breakfast for the first time in weeks for the special occasion. A couple of days ago my mother approached me and told me that my father had contracted a life-threatening disease and would not be able to work anymore. She said she had already taken up a job as a maid for a rich corporation owner who lived a ten minute walk away. She…

Today a new bill was passed that states that we can only work for 12 hours a day. This makes me very happy because we still get paid the same. It also gives me more time to work around the house and do some things of my own. I am so happy for this new bill. The only thing is the manager of the mine doesn’t agree with it and makes us work long shift anyway. I wish somebody would come out to the mines to reinforce this bill.

Today was a horrible day. There was a major accident where an older man fell down a shaft. It made me think about the inequality in the mines. Along with the hardships of the mine I started thinking about working at a different place such as a textile warehouse. I eventually decided against it because I had more experience in mining. I also think that there is going to be a new bill passes soon about the hours that we can work. I can wait for it to come out and make the work place more bearable…
