Government - Institutional revolutionary party. Their president was able to host the Olympics and some students use this huge stage to voice their opinion about their situation and the event snowballed into a massacre. They had support during the Mexican revolution but they were going more mainstream. the people wanted to transition to a democratic government but the party was fighting against that. This is when the giant massacre happened. The era of the party was marked with corruption and as the years went on, they continued to lose power.



Economic - refereed as the Mexican miracle, the economy was rapidly growing in a short amount of time. they were evolving in mining, electricity and oil refinery. They economy soon began to fail and the debt began to pile up. They borrowed billions of dollars form world leaders and were 80 million dollars. The whole government went bankrupt and the PRI was force to revamp the whole economy and they began a new approach to the situation.



Analysis - The failing economy was the main problem and the government wasn't doing the right things to try and get them out of the hole. They furthered themselves in debt and the economy became weaker and weaker. This was a result of the PRI and in the 80's the influence the PRI had started to weaken and then eventually came to an end.
